Have you recently been in an auto accident? You may be surprised to learn about “automotive diminished value,” which is when cars lose value after being in a wreck. This could be attributed to anything from minor scratches to full structural damage. Either way, you may be entitled to compensation if the accident was the fault of someone else.
Some websites will offer a diminution in value calculator, but it is still a good idea to get your car appraised by your insurance company or a mechanic. They will be able to give you the most accurate assessment of damage. Compensation eligibility is based on many factors, such as the value of the car before the accident, quality of repairs, and extent of the damage.
If you decide to file a lawsuit against the responsible party after an accident, it is important to take certain precautionary measures because they can, and will, try to fight your claim. Here are some suggestions:
- First, ensure that you take many high-quality photos of the damage from multiple angles. Photo proof is some of the best evidence you have during a diminished value case.
- You’ll also want to be sure to collect the names and phone numbers of any eyewitnesses, as these statements could be pivotal in your claim.
- Next, contact a lawyer who is experienced in automotive diminished value claims. They will be able to review your case from a legal standpoint and provide guidance on how to continue.
If you feel you have a credible claim for diminution in automobile value, it is highly advised that you retain a lawyer who can help you during the whole process. We recommend Brett M. Bressler Attorneys at Law, because they offer a free consultation and have over 27 years of experience handling these cases.
Many of us will reach retirement age with good health intact and excellent mental clarity. For those who don’t, there is help available.
Currently, the largest population of seniors will be Baby Boomers born between 1946 and 1964. This population is expected to double by the year 2050. The time to plan is sooner rather than later.
But, aging is not a bad thing. Many seniors continue on with daily activities as if they were decades younger. Healthy means happy, and good health is the key to a fabulous retirement. Make sure mom and dad are getting proper healthcare and that they are getting adequate nutrition.
Adult children should never approach aging parents in a negative manner. Aging is not a disease. The young adult still lives in the minds of seniors and we should do what we can to keep it there. A simple question such as “so mom, would you like us to help you with anything? Are you doing okay?” is all that is needed in most cases to begin the conversation. If you haven’t been around much in previous years, suggesting a retirement “home or community” may be met with resistance. Here are some positive suggestions:
– Assess the situation often. If all looks well, it probably is.
– If possible, share concerns with other siblings.
– Ask important questions regarding living wills, healthcare decisions, and power-of-attorney.
– Make sure parents remain active in clubs, church, or visiting friends.
– And by all means, stay in touch! Love is the best medicine.
And, when help is needed, Legacy In-Home Care can make the difference between peace and tranquility and total chaos. We offer assistance for every stage of aging. We love what we do – so will you! Contact Legacy today.
Have you ever believed someone close to you had something to hide? For example, let’s say you’ve seen changes in your partner’s behaviors; unexplained charges on their credit cards, working later than usual, frequent mood swings. Now, did you ever wish you could get proof to validate your intuition and confront them with the facts? If you suspect infidelity in your relationship, you may want to consider hiring a licensed private investigator. What you find out may be surprising—but it may just be exactly what you were looking for.
Computer and Data Investigations:
Time and time again, people will delete their browsing history, chat screens, and call logs to hide unfaithful or unlawful behaviors. Often unbeknownst to those people, seasoned professionals can employ advanced technology in the field of computer and data forensics to uncover hidden data. Though you believe clicking the “delete” button will destroy all traces of your activity, there is often extensive evidence remaining.

While research EMV Credit Card Processing, I came across an article by franchising.com. Their article titled “Got EMV?: Why You Should, and What’s Ahead” gave an great overview of why you as a business and a franchise should have one. They explained that “With chip-and-signature, someone could still steal your card, use it at a retail establishment and just sign it. No new real security here. As such, there is still a risk of fraudulent transactions at the POS. With chip-and-PIN, there is very little risk of this as the would-be thief would not know your PIN (unless you wrote it on the card).”. So as a consumer you have more protection against loss if someone has your card.
As a retail merchant, there are a few good reasons to switch over to the new POS platform. One good reason will be a reduction in credit card charge backs. This may not seem like a big deal, but for a small business this can present some challenges.
Another reason is better protection for your customers which will leave you with less risk. You as a business own have enough to worry about, your merchant payment processing should not be one of them.
Tom Epstein of Franchise Payment Networks suggests that if you have a lot of “card present” transactions you as a franchise or business owner should be looking at adding EMV readers.
